The University of Salford have formed a partnership with Key103 to deliver expert media training at the University’s MediaCityUK campus and Key103’s studios.
The courses will be delivered by Key103’s journalists who are also professionals in reputation management and crisis PR. They will provide guidance, practical solutions and presentation skills so that organisations can handle media attention effectively and stay calm under pressure.
Stuart Wells, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Salford Professional Development, said: “We are looking forward to working with Key 103 to make this collaboration a market-leader in the provision of media training.
“Working closely with Key103 will enhance our training programmes at the MediaCityUK campus which is a hub for innovation and excellence across the media industry.”
Key103’s Senior Media Trainer and acclaimed journalist, Paul Lockitt, said: “Every day we see companies in crisis and managers at the mercy of the media due to product recalls, accidents and scandals. You have to feel for those bosses battling to protect their business and restore their reputation before a competitor steals an advantage.
“Key103′s crisis PR and media training is already helping businesses large and small turn the media to their advantage so it becomes part of the solution rather than the problem.”
Key103 is a market leader in commercial radio, part of the Bauer Media Group, whose portfolio of brands includes 42 radio stations in the UK’s largest cities, TV stations including Heat, Box, Kerrang! and magazines such as Heat, Closer and Grazia.
