BBC Sport has partnered with Roku, to provide sports news, live coverage and highlights to users of the streaming platform in the UK.
The announcement has been made ahead of the World Cup in Brazil, where the MediaCityUK-based teams will provide coverage of 31 games.
“The Roku streaming platform offers the best viewing experience and we are pleased to bring more sporting programmes to our UK customers,” said Ed Lee, vice president of content acquisition at Roku.
“This new addition brings a wide range of content for sports fans, including must-see sports events that can be watched live or on catch-up.”
The BBC Sport app will be free to download from the company’s channel store. Content will be filtered by sport and there will be a special World Cup section.
