Radio production company, ReelWorld, has signed a deal with the University of Salford at MediaCityUK, to help deliver part of its media syllabus.
The firm, which set up in the Blue Building just over a year ago, specialises in making jingles and audio imaging for radio stations.
It’s in this area that it will be working with undergraduates, to help with their creative audio module in the television and radio degree.
“I’m delighted to be working with ReelWorld and to be able to create even more links between the University and the best in the radio industry,” said Geoff McQueen, a lecturer on the BA Television and Radio degree.
“Exposing our students to professional practices and briefs really accelerates their learning and being based at MediaCityUK gives them this advantage.”
Students will learn about branding rules, the effect of music on listeners’ moods and then deliver their own station audio imaging.
